    • You should contact the appropriate division coordinator list on our Board Member page. Go to About Us > Board Members.
They should be able to provide status for that division. If she turned 14 after July 31st of this year, then she would be in GU14 – if she turned 14 before July 31st, then she will be in Coed-U16.

  3. I suggest you contact our registrar, he may be able to give you status. His info should be list on our Board page. Http://ayso174.org/board.

  4. Julie - Team Mom

Hi – Is there a date when the trophies will be given out to the coach to distribute to the players? We are looking to schedule an end of year team party. thanks. Team Mom

    • It’s too soon to know what the date will be, but it’s always our goal to have trophies and yearbooks available by the last game of the season, although sometimes it’s shortly after.

  5. Julie - Team Mom

    Thank you

  6. Is there a place on the site to submit pictures taken for the yearbook?

  7. when are the pictures coming in?

    thanks :)

  8. any suggestions on available parks with lights without having to get a permit where we can practice now that it is getting dark early?

    thanks.

  9. Can we still submit pictures for the yearbook?

  10. I am interested in playing for the Turkey Tournament Team for U-16, who should i contact about this?

  11. any word yet if the games are cancelled for saturday?

    • Games are never cancelled days in advance due to weather forecast. As you know, things can change, and yes, it is possible that games could still be played in rainy conditions (light showers, off an on, etc.) If you want to be notified of cancellations or field closures right away, you can register for our text alert system in the upper right hand corner of our website. We’ll send a text as soon as status changes, otherwise, please assume games will be played.

  12. My son will be 4 on May 4th. Can I sign him up for a team?

    • This is from our Registration page on the site:
“Your child’s age on July 31 determines the division he/she will play in, except for the U-5 division. A child may play in the U-5 division if they are four years of age on or before opening day.”

  13. My grandson is playing in this weekend’s U 10 League Playoffs. We were sent the AYSO Region 174 map which includes a map layout of the fields which are identified as Fields A – D; however, the U 10 League Playoff Schedule notes games being played on Fields 1 – 8. How does this relate?
    Thanks for your help.

    • Good question. We have 4 main fields, A B C & D. These are full sized fields, so when we need U10-sized fields, we simply draw the fields width-wise across those fields. So you think of them as A1 A2, B1 B2, etc. If you haven’t been to our fields before, once you get there it’s pretty straight forward. Fields should be marked, but if it’s not obvious you can always ask at the Ref tent.

  14. Disappointed…
My daughter was supposed to play in an All-Star tournament today in Granada Hills and it was rained out. Considering it was raining very little and not a blown out storm, I don’t understand why the games were cancelled and why they can’t continue tomorrow since the park is reserved anyway. Seems like a waste of a day. There are players who have spent a lot of money to be on these teams who are unable to be there next week do to previous engagements. I am not one of those parents to tell my child that they have to play under any circumstance, but I will say to my child “it’s just a little bump in the road”. The kids most likely would still have had fun, maybe more.

    • Yes, it is disappointing, but it is pretty common, which is why they intentionally schedule rain make-up days in advance. Unfortunately, because there are so many games and so many teams participating, even if the weather clears up later in the day, completely changing and rescheduling all the teams and volunteers is virtually impossible. It’s much easier at the beginning of the year to say 1/21 is all-star area playoffs, and if it rains that weekend it will be 1/28.
I’m not sure why you’d be paying a lot of money since the tournament doesn’t cost players anything – unless your particular team decided to outfit itself somehow.
AYSO’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of the players and volunteers, and while there are times when we will play in the rain, it’s up to the tournament directors to decide if it’s enough of a factor to cancel. By the way, here in socal, the rain isn’t usually the problem – it’s the muddy field conditions that are difficult to play on. We have canceled games in the past due to threat of lightning, severe wind, and poor air quality for the same reasons.

  15. All of the necessary information and forms are available on our North Valley Classic page on this website.

  16. When is the next spring registration date? Will there be any types of clinics for U6 before the seasons starts?

    • We don’t have an in-person date scheduled, but I typically we’ll have our registrar taking registrations on the saturday of our tournament in march, the North Valley Classic. You can watch this site for updates, or feel free to send your registration application in via mail. There is information and instructions on our registration page: http://ayso174.org/registration

  17. When the does the spring season start and when does the fall season start? Are there any opening’s for a 5 year old girl for the spring?

  18. Hi… I’m trying to find info re: the summer soccer camps that my sons took part in last year. I checked this link (http://www.ayso.org/camps/day_camps/register.aspx) which I thought was the proper place to sign up, but North Valley / granada hills was not listed as a participating location. Will you be hosting a summer camp this year (2012)? thanks for any info! Jacqui

  19. Laura Suchite

I pre registered my son Andy Medrano to play in spring and fall, however he is now on a traveling basketball team so he cannot play. Can I get a refund please? Please let me know if I can or who I should contact

    Thank you
    Laura Suchite

    • yes, it is possible to get a refund. On our registration page http://ayso174.org/registration you’ll find a refund request form. Just print that out and follow the instructions. Our registrar usually processes these in a timely manner. If you have any questions you can also come back here to ask, or you can click the email link in the upper right hand corner of this page.

  20. I would like to know if you have any space open for a 6 y/o girl.

    • I suggest you come to our fields either tomorrow (3/17) between 10-12noon or Tuesday 3/20 at 5pm. Our registrar will be on site to answer questions and take registration applications.
BUT . . . if you plan to come tomorrow, check this website first to make sure fields aren’t closed due to rain.

  24. Hello,

Spring Season is just a week away and I have yet to receive an email from the coordinator of U10 division to indicate what team my daughter will be playing on, or what time she’ll be playing. I’d like to be able to attend her first game and need to let my employer know. An update would be greatly appreciated.

    • All spring games start at 5pm or 6pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. So if you plan to be at the fields Tuesday at 5pm you won’t miss the game. It’s not uncommon to find out what team you’re assigned to until just a couple of days before the season begins. There are a lot of volunteers that need to be coordinated, and sometimes it can be difficult identifying coaches. If you’d like to coach, there may be openings in U10, then you’d know exactly what team your child will be on and all the other details as we work them out. If you’re interested, let us know here and we’ll have someone contact you.

      • Paul,

Thank you for the prompt reply. I would love to volunteer however considering I work in Toluca Lake until 5 pm, logistically it’d be extremely difficult for me to do so. I would be doing the girls and the league a disservice. I thank you for the information.

  25. Marden brinton

I signed up my son zachary Brinton for spring soccer in the fall and have not heard from a coach about opening day this Tuesday. I have heard from my younger sons coach but not the u14 coach
This seems to happen a lot with my son Zachary brinton as he has been forgotten about the last two seasons until I send an email about him.
We have been in this league for about 7 years and the last few seasons he seems to be missed. My other son Caleb brinton is not a problem as we always hear from a coach in a normal time.

    • I’m sorry to hear about this, I assure you it is likely a coincidence. Since our region is run entirely by volunteers, sometimes it is difficult finding volunteers for certain divisions, which can cause a delay in getting teams organized.
My suggestion is simply to show up at the snack bar tomorrow by 4:30 ready to play, and someone should be able to help things get sorted out.

  26. Are you only accepting registrations for U6 boys for the Fall?
