We are very pleased you are part of our AYSO Soccer Family here at Region 174 and look forward to your participation.
AYSO has six philosophies: Balanced Teams, Everyone Plays, Positive Coaching, Open Registration, Good Sportsmanship & Player Development. These philosophies are what make AYSO special and why we are the number one youth sports program in America.
New Player Evaluation Sessions will be held at the North Valley Soccer Fields – 12940 Balboa Blvd., Granada Hills 91344.
Shin guards are REQUIRED for all players. No shin guards, no play, no exceptions.
Boys’ evaluations will be held Saturday, July 27. Girls’ evaluations will be held Saturday, August 3.
· 7/8U (birth years 2018 & 2017) - check in at 8:30. Evaluations begin at 9:00 am.
· 10U (birth years 2016 & 2015) - check in 10:30 am. Evaluations begin 11:00 am.
· 12/14/16U (birth years 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009) - check in at 11:30. Evaluations begin 12:00 pm.
Who Needs to Come? Only NEW players born between 2018-2006 who DID NOT play with Region 174 in Fall 2023.
Who DOES NOT Need to Come? Players in 5U and 6U (players born in 2020 and 2019) and all returning players.
The first day of the season will be Saturday, September 7 (the 16U/19U divisions will begin Sunday, August 18). Opening Ceremonies will be Friday, September 6 at 6:30 pm. More information to come.

AYSO is a youth program whose success and continuance are supported and dependent solely on volunteers. We are still in need of coaches for many divisions, as well as referees, team parents and other help. Parents, if you have not yet volunteered, please take a moment to log into your Sports Connect account and register to volunteer.
DO NOT FEAR! We provide all of the training for coaches and referees, and no prior experience is necessary. It is not only a big help — and a show of support to your child — it's fun! Dates for coach and referee training classes are listed on the calendar. All coaches and referees must participate in AYSO certified training. All training is free. There is no cost to you.
You will be receiving further communications about your team, practice dates (if applicable), and other news directly from your coach by the end of August. You can also log on to our website www.ayso174.org for further dates and information.
